Head (f/m/x) of the Core Research Facilities

The DZNE CRFS provides state-of-the-art services to scientists at the DZNE and other research organizations.

The aim of the CRFS is to offer to our scientists a broad range of diverse technologies that are required by a state-of-the-art research. Our well-trained and dedicated staff will support scientists in the use of cutting edge technologies to extract the maximum potential from the technology. Additionally, the CRFS allows to achieve cost savings, economy of resources, centralization of research functionality.


Your role in detail

  • Lead the strategic planning and management of core facilities and services.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team, addressing personnel issues and managing administrative and  disciplinary actions when required.
  • Ensure the availability and optimal functioning of cutting-edge equipment and technologies.
  • Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and operational efficiency.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, faculty, industry partners, and vendors.
  • Develop and implement policies for the efficient use and maintenance of facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in service offerings.

Your qualifications

  • Ph.D. degree in a relevant scientific field (e.g., biology, biomedical sciences, chemistry).
  • Proven experience in managing core research facilities or technical services within a research institution or industry.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and safety protocols in research facilities.
  • Ability to drive innovation and promote best practices in facility management.
