Your tasks

Your tasks include daily maintenance and user support as well as long-term planning of our IT infrastructure (servers, storage, backup solutions, high performance computing) for a research institute with 120 people generating and analysing large amounts of imaging and genetic data.

You will be responsible for the provision of server systems, monitor productive operation and keep the systems up to date with the latest technology in close interaction with the central IT services responsible for standard IT functionality (network, data and user account management, etc.) at our headquarters in Bonn. Together you will plan and implement the provision of systems for special scientific requirements and implement the specified safety concepts.

Another regular task of the system administrator includes the support of scientific and non-scientific users of the IT systems at the DZNE Munich site. This includes the setup of computers (PC and Mac) with operating systems and user software, maintenance and updating of existing computers, advice on new acquisitions and immediate user support. You will work on projects and be responsible for IT support in the projects.

Supported by IT operations, you will provide users with central resources such as disk space and perform the installation and configuration of new systems.

Requirements

  • You have a degree from a university of applied sciences as a computer scientist, a completed IT training as an IT technical assistant or a comparable training
  • You have several years of experience in system administration and user support for a modern Windows-MacOS X network
  • You have a good knowledge of Server, HyperV, Exchange Server and Sharepoint.
  • You have very good knowledge in the area of hardware and software, and especially in the area of client and server operating systems (Windows Server)
  • Good knowledge in the field of network technology is also required
