The German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) is a unique non-university research center which is dedicated to the subject dementia and all its areas, as well as other neurodegenerative diseases. Technical Assistant (f/m/d)

The DZNE in Berlin is looking for a Technical Assistant (f/m/d) to join the scientific team led by Prof. Craig Garner (https://www.dzne.de/en/research/research-areas/fundamental-research/research-groups/garner/research-areasfocus/) starting from November 2019.


Your tasks

The work will include maintaining cell lines, the preparation of primary neuronal and immune cell cultures as well as molecular cloning, SDS-PAGE, western blot and fluorescence microscopy. In addition to the experimental work, the technician will support the group’s administration (purchasing, control of the consumables budget, lab organization).

Requirements

Candidates with a BTA, MTA, CTA (Biologisch-, Medizinisch-, Pharmazeutisch-, Chemisch-technischer Assistent) will be expected to assist with all aspects of the experimental and administrative work.Candidates should be familiar with primary cell culture, biochemistry and imaging approaches that will be used to analyze neuronal and immune cells. Previous experience in cell-biological research using in vivo models would be preferable. Candidates should have excellent knowledge of the English language and possess good communication and organizational skills.
