DZNE is a world-leading, internationally oriented center for cutting-edge research into diseases of the nervous system.

At 10 locations in Germany, around 1,200 employees are working together on new approaches to better understand and effectively combat diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and ALS.

Code: 1500/2025/12

Your role in detail

You will address questions related to axon growth and regeneration, by investigating mechanisms that contribute to developmental growth process of neurons and how these can be used to elicit regeneration in pathological conditions. What are the cellular and molecular mechanism nerve cells deploying to grow during development? And can these processes be reactivated so that damaged nerve cells regenerate after a spinal cord injury? These are the key research topics of our lab.

Based on previous results and expertise of our group you will develop your own research projects and profile. You will explore and establish state-of-the-art cell culture, in vivo and microscope techniques to perform the experiments and analyse your data.
