Your role in detail

As part of a newly established international consortium, we are seeking a Scientific Project Manager to coordinate scientific, operational, and strategic activities within the lab and across multiple partner institutions.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

  • Act as primary liaison between the research team, collaborators, and funding bodies, ensuring effective internal and external communication across the consortium
  • Organize and coordinate meetings, workshops, and consortium events, including preparation of summaries and action points
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships within the network

Research Operations and Project Management

  • Track milestones, deliverables, and timelines across work packages
  • Support onboarding and coordination of project personnel
  • Prepare progress and financial reports, and monitor budget allocation and resource use
  • Maintain structured documentation of project activities, including SOPs, ethical approvals (preclinical and human tissue), and biosafety documentation

Open Science and Data Coordination

  • Coordinate the sharing of datasets, protocols, and project outputs in line with open science and consortium policies
  • Support the implementation of workflows for data sharing and reproducibility

Scientific Coordination

  • Facilitate collaboration between research groups and align scientific objectives across partners
  • Identify synergies and opportunities within the network
  • Contribute to scientific reporting and dissemination activities

Your profile in cutting edge research

  • Master’s degree required; PhD preferred in neuroscience, biomedical sciences, or a related field

  • Experience in scientific project management, preferably in collaborative or interdisciplinary research environments

  • Strong understanding of biomedical research workflows

  • Experience with large-scale, multi-partner projects is highly desirable

  • Familiarity with open science practices and data management

  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken) is required

  • German language skills are desirable and considered an advantage

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple workflows in a dynamic research environment

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across disciplines and institutions
