Your role in detail

We are looking for you in the working group of Dr. Ayse Ulusoy

  • Independent organization and coordination of laboratory operations, including ordering, inventory management, and sample tracking
  • Responsibility for structured documentation and maintenance of laboratory workflows, including SOPs and data organization
  • Independent execution and optimization of experimental procedures, with a focus on tissue processing (e.g., perfusions and sectioning)
  • Immunohistochemistry and related staining techniques. Cyclic high-plex IHC experience is a plus.
  • Support and implementation of microscopy-based image acquisition and quantitative image analysis
  • Troubleshooting and adaptation of established protocols in coordination with scientific staff
  • Coordination of consumables, reagents, and selected equipment maintenance
  • Contribution to quality control, reproducibility, and compliance with laboratory standards
  • Training and supervision of students and new lab members in laboratory techniques and workflows
  • Close collaboration with researchers and technical staff to ensure efficient experimental execution

Your profile in cutting edge research

  • Completed vocational training as BTA, MTA, CTA, or a Master’s degree (MSc) in life sciences or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in immunohistochemistry workflows, with the ability to work independently in this area
  • Experience with tissue processing, histological techniques, and microscopy
  • Knowledge of image analysis tools (e.g., ImageJ, QuPath, or similar) is an advantage
  • Structured, reliable, and independent working style with strong attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and team-working skills
  • Good English communication skills; German is preferred
  • FELASA certification is a plus

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Technical Assistant (BTA/MTA/CTA or MSc) to join a preclinical neuroscience research group focusing on Parkinson’s disease and neurodegeneration. The position involves independent responsibility for laboratory organization and specialized experimental workflows, with a strong emphasis on immunohistochemistry (IHC), tissue processing, and image-based analysis. We are looking for individuals who work independently within the defined technical areas, contribute to the optimization of experimental procedures, and support the efficient operation of a dynamic research environment.
