  • We are looking for an ambitious, open-minded Postdoc who is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about autoantibodies in autoimmune encephalitis (AE) research (e.g., NMDAREs) and adeno-associated virus (AAV) vector technology.
  • You are expected to finish work regarding an ongoing project on a novel approach of NR1 autoantibody delivery for experimental modelling of NMDAREs, and to develop vectors for similar AE disease models. T
  • he work will include in vitro and in vivo experiments (e.g., using AAB AAV vectors in primary cell cultures, organotypic slices, and in vivo) as well as data analysis and manuscript preparation. Good communication skills and excellent knowledge of the English language are expected.
  • The research project is is based on very interdisciplinary approaches and under time constraint, so that experiences in different specialized techniques (here: in vitro primary brain cell cultures, organotypic mouse brain slices, ex vivo tissue analysis) are absolute essential.
  • Candidates have also to be familiar with the standard methods in protein biochemistry, basic cell culture, and high quality fluorescence microscopy.

Your profile in cutting edge research

  • Ability to work independently with standard techniques of cell biology, immunology, biochemistry and molecular biology
  • Background and expertise in cell- or neurobiology of AEs, AAV vector design, and  brain tissue analysis including organotypic slices
  • Excellent organizational skills and fluency in English, spoken and written
