Your role in detail

We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to develop and conduct high-quality research projects within our program on the systems biology of aging. The successful candidate will design and perform experimental and analytical studies, establish and apply state-of-the-art methods, and analyze high-dimensional datasets using approaches from data science, statistics and computational biology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • conducting independent research within the lab’s systems biology of aging program, using experimental, computational and data-driven approaches;
  • developing and applying state-of-the-art methods for the analysis of aging-related biological processes;
  • publishing and presenting research findings and contributing to grant applications and scientific collaborations;
  • contributing to the supervision and training of junior researchers.

The position provides opportunities to develop an independent research profile, expand leadership and project-management experience, build national and international collaborations, and prepare for future scientific leadership roles.

Your role in cutting edge research

The Ehninger Lab investigates the systems biology of aging, with a particular interest in understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms that shape aging trajectories and their links to neurodegenerative and other aging-associated diseases. Our work combines experimental and computational approaches to identify mechanisms and pathways that contribute to age-related functional decline and disease.

Your profile in cutting edge research

  • PhD in biology, biomedicine, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in data science, statistics, and programming, in the context of biological or biomedical research
  • Experience in aging research or age-related disease biology is considered an advantage

Your benefits

  • Remuneration and conditions according to TVöD-Bund:

    Including annual special payment, capital-forming benefits and VBL supplementary pension scheme

  • Innovation and internationality:

    A forward-looking infrastructure, modern laboratory and office equipment, software tools and the opportunity for international exchange with your colleagues from 65 nations

  • Personalised Onboarding:

    For a good start to your new professional challenge

  • Family-conscious corporate culture:
